Jīntiān māma yǒu shì, suǒyǐ tā ràng wǒ zìjǐ qù chāoshì mǎi dōngxi. Zhè shì wǒ dì yí cì yí ge rén mǎi zhème duō dōngxi. Māma gěi le wǒ yì zhāng zhǐ, shàngmiàn xiězhe: niúnǎi, jīdàn, píngguǒ, mǐ hé liǎng píng shuǐ.

Mum is busy today, so she asks me to go to the supermarket by myself. This is my first time buying so many things alone. Mum gives me a piece of paper listing milk, eggs, apples, rice and two bottles of water.

Dào le chāoshì yǐhòu, wǒ xiān qù mǎi shuǐguǒ. Hóng píngguǒ yì gōngjīn shí’èr kuài, lǜ píngguǒ piányi yìdiǎnr. Wǒ juéde hóng píngguǒ kàn qǐlái gèng hǎochī, suǒyǐ mǎi le yì gōngjīn hóng píngguǒ.

After arriving at the supermarket, I buy fruit first. Red apples are twelve yuan per kilogram and green apples are a little cheaper. I think the red apples look tastier, so I buy one kilogram of red apples.

Ránhòu wǒ qù zhǎo niúnǎi. Wǒ zhǎo le hěn jiǔ, háishi méiyǒu zhǎodào. Hòulái wǒ wèn gōngzuò rényuán: “Qǐngwèn, niúnǎi zài nǎr?” Tā shuō: “Zài qiánmiàn, miànbāo pángbiān.” Zuìhòu, wǒ mǎihǎo le suǒyǒu dōngxi. Huí dào jiā yǐhòu, māma xiàozhe shuō: “Búcuò! Nǐ xiànzài huì zìjǐ mǎi dōngxi le.”

Then I look for milk. I search for a long time but still cannot find it. Later I ask a staff member, “Excuse me, where is the milk?” He says, “Ahead, beside the bread.” Finally, I finish buying everything. After I return home, Mum smiles and says, “Not bad! Now you can shop by yourself.”
